Tenuta Rocca Barolo DOCG
Barolo is one of the great wines of Italy, coming from the beautiful Langhe hills not too far from the city of Turin and the town of Alba. Barolo is the name of the village. The grape variety is Nebbiolo, which undergoes at least three years ageing in barrel, so that the tannins are tamed. This example is full-bodied with a good tannic structure and intense fruit, but is not too austere, as the tannins are soft and well-integrated, and it is drinking well now.

Tenuta Rocca Barolo "Vigna San Pietro" DOCG
This Barolo is made from grapes picked from the San Pietro parcel of vineyard, which has the very best conditions for growing Nebbiolo, and the grapes are put through a careful selection process. This is beautifully elegant. There are hints of spice and red fruits on the nose, with some firm tannins and youthful, elegant fruit on the palate. The ageing potential is considerable. Again it makes for enjoyable drinking now, but will give even greater pleasure after a few years bottle age.

These Dolcetto grapes are taken from the Sori Rocca vineyards at Tenuta Rocca, which give the best quality Dolcetto grapes. This wine has notes of cherry and red berries on the nose, with a good structure and well-integrated tannins. There is a pleasant hint of almond on the finish.
