"Poiega" Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC
Award-winning Valpolicella from Roberto Mazzi, who owns this tiny six-hectare farm in the Veneto. He has nicknamed this wine the “fratello giovane” (younger brother) of Amarone, as this unique Valpolicella is made purely from grapes that have undergone a light air-drying for forty days. This gives a wonderful concentration of flavour. It is full-bodied yet extremely elegant, with very smooth tannins and a ripe berry flavour that opens up wonderfully on the palate.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classica Punta di Villa DOC
This example is deep in colour, with rich cherry notes on the nose, while the palate is rounded and dense, with intense fruit and layers of flavour and some tannin. It needs warming winter dishes or firm cheeses to tame the flavours.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classica Castel DOC
Made from grapes taken from the Castel parcel of vineyard which is the smallest area of vineyard on the farm, and so only 3000 bottles of this wine are produced every year. Roberto Mazzi is passionate about making Amarone that is traditional in style and both of the Mazzi Amarone’s are heavy and rich with smoky, raisiny fruit.
